Laundroworks Integration, Start Here!

There are two layers of integration of Laundroworks with Wash-Dry-Fold POS: Payment integration and Machine Start integration

Payment Integration

The first layer of integration is payment integration, where you purchase a Laundroworks POS reader device which is designed to work with 3rd party applications such as ours. This enables your WDF POS system to accept payments from customers using their Laundroworks card as payment at the register, and you can issue refunds onto Laundroworks cards if you want to (you can turn the refund feature on or off in your store settings in WDF POS). Setup and activation of this feature is super quick and easy. Payment integration works right out of the box with the basic Laundroworks package, provided that you have already purchased a Laundroworks POS reader for your Laundroworks system from your local distributor.

Machine Start Integration

The next integration method is machine start integration, where your attendants can use the WashLynx app by Laundoworks on smartphones to tap on readers to start machines for laundry orders created in the WDF POS system. This requires a higher level of subscription with Laundroworks, but it's a tight integration that really locks down exactly who started machines and for which orders in WDF POS they were started, with logs on both the Laundroworks side and WDF POS side about who's starting machines and for which orders. Setup is a bit more involved and includes managing attendant user accounts in Laundroworks for their smartphones but it's an appealing feature for security and accountability.

Allowing laundry attendants to simply use a Laundroworks management card for starting washers and dryers for free is included in the basic Laundroworks functionality. This could potentially be abused, but there is an element of flexibility and ease of management. If you need to investigate machine starts, there will be a complete log with Laundroworks that can be double-checked with the Production Log of an order in WDF POS and its timestamps or the Machine Starts Report within WDF POS.

There's one other layer to Laundroworks subscriptions which is the mobile payment app for laundromat customers called LaundryCat. It uses a different payment processor than the one for your Value Add Center kiosks so the rates may be different for credit card processing. The advantage is customers don't have to keep up with a physical card and you don't have to incur the cost of dispensing physical cards. The LaundryCat app is not a part of the WDF POS integration with Laundroworks aside from the ability for customers to tap their phone on the Laundroworks POS reader device to pay at the register with their digital wallet's balance.
