Till Assignment and Counting Options

There are two primary ways to manage cash drawers (tills) in your store using the Wash-Dry-Fold POS system: Single Till Per Day and Individual Till Per Employee. Choose the method that best fits your store’s staffing and shift schedule.

Single Till Per Day

Best for stores with overlapping employee shifts where attendants share a single drawer throughout the day.

1. Start of Day

  • Employee 1 clocks in
  • Taps Open Shift
  • Enters the standard quantity of each denomination on the Enter Drawer Start screen

2. Midday (Shift Change)

  • Employee 1 taps Close Shift
  • Counts the till and enters amounts on the Enter Drawer Close screen
  • Employee 2 clocks in and taps Open Shift
  • Verifies the cash amount by recounting and enters the same (or adjusted) amounts on the Enter Drawer Start screen

3. End of Day

  • Employee 2 taps Close Shift
  • Counts till and enters the quantities on the Enter Drawer Close screen
  • Gathers all cash, checks, and relevant receipts for the day into a money bag
  • Deposits money bag into a safe

This approach uses the midday shift change as a spot check for cash accuracy, rather than a full till replacement.

Individual Till Per Employee

Best for stores with separate tills per employee and more structured shift responsibilities.

1. Start of Day

  • Employee 1 retrieves their assigned till from a safe/deposit box
  • Clocks in and taps Open Shift
  • Enters standard denominations on the Enter Drawer Start screen

2. Midday (Shift Change)

  • Employee 1 taps Close Shift
  • Counts their till and enters amounts on the Enter Drawer Close screen
  • Collects all money, checks, and relevant receipts from their shift
  • Seals them in a money bag and drops it in a safe
  • Clocks out
  • Employee 2 grabs their assigned till from safe or deposit box
  • Clocks in and taps Open Shift
  • Enters the standard quantities on the Enter Drawer Start screen

3. End of Day

  • Employee 2 taps Close Shift button
  • Counts the till and enters quantities on Enter Drawer Close screen
  • Gathers money, checks, and relevant receipts from their shift into a money bag and deposits it into a safe

This method requires employees to have access to individual till storage, such as a safe or cubby system.
